About See It Through

The See It Through Foundation was founded to financially support the academic ambition of college bound young men living in the inner city. Our fund raising efforts are focused upon linking their ambition with the reality of college life. Our Board of Directors, family and friends along with our financial contributors recognize the value of advanced education. These young men face new challenges today requiring innovative contemporary solutions. Advancing technology, continued shifts in the global labor market along with a social atmosphere today, more likely to reward merit, all underline the high value we place on advanced education.

Our core values are simple and effective. Manhood—the pursuit is often abstract and laborious and the rewards generally personal measured by individual perspective. However, we stress the road where the pursuit begins starts above their shoulders. Scholarship—globalization is a pressing reality demanding specialized skills. We deeply believe a college education will strengthen an individual’s ability to remain viable and competitive. Perseverance—we will not give-up on our children and they must not give-up on themselves. Uplift—a hand-up pulls the next generation into position to carry on. Turning back to remember, well, we simple feel it is our responsibility.

Edgar A. Guest in his poem “See It Through” best communicates what the S. I. T. Foundation is all about:

SEE IT THROUGH

When you’re up against a trouble,

Meet it squarely face to face;

Lift your chin and set your shoulders,

Plant your feet and take a brace;

When it’s vain to try to dodge it,

Do the best that you can do;

You may fail, but you may conquer
See it Through!

Black may be the clouds about you

And your future may seem grim,

But don’t let your nerve desert you;

Keep yourself in fighting trim.

If the worst is bound to happen,

Spite of all what you can do,

Running from it will not save you,
See It Through!

Even hope may seem but futile,

When with troubles you’re beset,

But remember you are facing

Just what other men have met.

You may fail, but fall still fighting;

Don’t give up, what e’er you do.

Eyes front, head high to the finish,
See It Through!
